History of the Main Arena

The Main Arena was constructed in 1931 by Architect Martin. This facility was constructed due to the original skating and curling rink burnt down in 1929. The officially opening of the arena was on Wednesday, December 23, 1931. 

Main Arena Closure

Due to the serious deterioration of Main Arena and concerns for public health and safety, the City of Melfort will be immediately closing the facility for an indefinite period.

Provincial Disaster Assistance Program

The City of Melfort has been approved as an eligible assistance area under PDAP for the heavy rainfall on June 19, 29 and 30, 2014.
